Propositions 2022

2022 BALLOT INITIATIVES (VETO) REFERENDUMS, AND RECALL
                                                            (as of 1/22/2022)

On 8 Nov. 2022, statewide ballots will so far have at least three propositions  passed by the AZ Legislature. Ballots MAY also have up to ten, possibly more, citizen-initiated propositions, citizen-initiated measures must have SecState certification that signatures are sufficient -- a 2 July 2022 submission deadline, and survive any court challenges.

However, there will be no recalls of elected officials on ballots -- all 7 attempts failed to submit signatures by the deadline, as occurred with 3 other veto referendum petitions seeking to negate voter suppression laws.

New ten-year redistricting boundaries (by the end of January) will not impact statewide ballot initiatives.

2022 MEASURES TO SUPPORT

FOUR PROPOSITIONS:

VOTERS RIGHT TO KNOW ACT - STOP DARK MONEY

PREVENT CRUELTY TO FARM ANIMALS INITIATIVE

INTEREST RATE LIMIT ON [MEDICAL] DEBT INITIATIVE

         IN-STATE TUITION FOR NON-CITIZEN RESIDENTS

ONE VETO REFERENDUMS which would hold in suspension anti-education revenue laws passed by the 2021 GOP-dominated legislature until the 8 Nov. 2022 general elections determine their fate.

SB 1828.  Creates a flat tax at 2.5%.  A massive giveaway to the rich, reduces education revenues, and an affront to the voter-approved Prop. 208 in 2020 that created an extra 3.5% education tax on $250,000 (single) and $500,000 (married incomes).
